Welcome to Wilson!

Welcome to Wilson!
Some of our Perth makers got together to welcome Wilson (and Adam) in person.

I'm super happy to announce that Wilson Waters is joining MakerX as a Principal Engineer this week. Wilson is joining the rapidly growing contingent of makers in Perth, Australia.

Wilson!

I've known Wilson for 14 years and can honestly say he's both one of the nicest and most diligent people you will ever meet. I'm so excited to finally get the chance to work with him after all of this time!

Wilson comes from a wildly diverse background, including running his own business, being platform architect at a high performance compute cloud provider, a founding staff member and CTO for a startup product that visualised and managed drill core and geological samples in mining, and various other roles including research & development for video surveillance in transit and security industries.

Here's what our CEO, Matt Davies, had to say:

The awesome new starters keep on coming! I have known Wilson for a long time, since one of the very early DDD Perth conferences where he helped out as an AV guru. I'm extremely excited about this.

Wilson himself had the following to say:

I'm excited and honored to be one of the Makers. It's humbling to be working alongside such great people. I feel MakerX is going to be huge. I'm planning to work 3 days a week this year so I can spend some quality time with my family and I'm looking forward to some extended weekend camping trips. Might even take the laptop, phone and a big battery and work from the middle of nowhere occasionally!
